Grand Final Day! 43degrees!
We were up & on the road by 6am hoping the road would be open to get back to Broome to watch the Grand Final on the telly.
We had driven about 80 km then came across 4-5 cars waiting at the road block sign, 2 cars had been waiting there for 2 days !
We then decided to go back 20 km to Beagle Bay & buy some tucker as we had run out, we drove over to the Church & parked under the tree,we also had mobile coverage here so we could keep up to date on the fire.
Several other people joined us here waiting, it was a good get together, we all shared stories of where we had been & where we were going etc.
Finally the news that the road would be opened early arvo!
We all drove back to the road block & waited along with another 30 odd cars that were lined up.
Then finally at 2pm the Police, CFS & SES escorted us through back to Broome.
By the time we got back the Grand Final was well & truly over!
