Well second week of volunteering was just as good as the first. We carried on with the same teaching routines as the previous week. However this time we taught the children the Okey Cokey which they loved and got really into it.
By this week we all had our favourites and felt a lot more settled in. We were able to finish our paintings and the garden which now looks really good compared to what they had.
We did however decide not to have nap time this week and thought we better do some work to get finished!!
We finished the placement this week as the project has come to an end, therefore on thursday we had a little party with the children which they enjoyed. We also did a singing performance, and surprisingly it went well! We sang and danced to In the Jungle, it was pretty impressive that even our fellow volunteers wanted a performance at the house! (yes there are videos, you're not missing out!!)
It was very sad to leave them and their little faces when they waved us off will be a memory to last forever. Although it was very sad to leave them we are excited to see what the new placement for the final week has to offer. It is a lot more basic and needs more work doing.
We were able to go to the Silk and Silver village after placement as well this week. We were shown how the silk was made and dyed which was pretty amazing. We then watched the workers make the silk, the detail was outstanding and really made us open our eyes at the difference in work over here. 4 women sitting all day just weaving a 2metre piece of silk which can take them at least a month day in day out. We were able to buy some really nice things at both the silk and silver village for pennies.
We have pretty much exhausted Surin now. We are looking forwards to go travel although it will be very hard to say goodbye to the reps and other volunteers. But we do however have some amazing memories and experience that we will cherish.
We are looking to travel to Bangkok by train on friday morning arriving friday afternoon/evening. Our flight to Koh Samui is at 8:15am, then we will be getting a ferry to Koh Pang Yang.
We will get some more pictures uploaded soon as we can, lots more to come.
Love and hugs to you all, hope all is well! x x x

Bans Rashmi, 3-5 years for a brand is fairly renasoable. Look at Proto.in for example, we are two years old and are just scratching the surface.I always equated building a brand, as magnetizing steel. It takes its time, but once magnetized also holds power longer. Thats essentially the power of a brand. It most certainly needs its time. Three years, if you think about it is just 1000 days
