Anthong one of the 42 islands! It was where the idea for the film The Beach was thought of, however the atchual film was filmed on Koh Phi Phi.

We got the ferry to the island from Koh Samui. We started the day off by treking up the cliffs to the view point where we could look down on the Lagoon. It was knackering and we wernt even half way, the sun was beaming on us and the stairs were so steep. However we made it to the viewpoint and it was an incredible view. As you can see from the photos beautiful blue water surrounded by the trees. After we reached the viewpoint we began to climb down to the lagoon, again incredible! So we got down, and the only way back up was the way we came up the steep steps which need all the energy in the world to climb! We got the the finish and dived straight into the sea to cool off.

After we set off in our Kayaks around the cliffs and through caves! Lets just say us in a boat together was eventful. We crashed into many cliffs and other peoples kayaks! But it was an amazing way to see the surrondings on Anthong. After a long Kayak session we returned to the boat for a Thai buffet lunch before getting back in the kayaks to paddle to shore where we sunbathed and did some snorkelling. Unfortunatly the tide was out so the waters were quite shallow therefore we did not get full advantage of the snorkelling as we had to be careful not to cut ourselves on the corals. The waters were very murky too but we still made the most of it and saw some bright orange corals and some illuminous fish. There were a lot of eels too which was a bit terrifying and we quickly moved away from them.

After snorkelling we kayaked back to the boat just in time before a nasty storm started which made the journey back quiet choppy.

Again an amazing island and experience to add to our list.
