Day 10 (Day 6 on site) - Practical Completion achieved
Locks and final window panes installed. PC is achieved! Broken all records on completion time, and the scope included an early variation to add the foundation concrete slab (which was meant to be completed before we arrived). Also rained off some of the time. Great team effort. Team contemplating its application to George Assi for an early completion bonus. Off to get some furniture for the client in time for the handover ceremony on Friday.
PC party - a bonfire at the GGA base with the GGA volunteers. This was an ideal chance to meet some of the volunteers to discuss their thoughts on the positives and negatives of Rondawel life at GGA, and the rewards of working closely with the children. Much merriment was had.
Some of the team is planning a trip to Drakensberg Mountains on Thursday. It is a World Heritage Site, and according to the reviews it has spectacular views of a large mountain range (we are not sure exactly what we are letting ourselves in for but we're very excited!). Nice reward for finishing the job ahead of programme. P.S. just don't tell Nick there may be some hiking involved.
