Saturday was a day of orientation within the local area here in Kensington. There are lots of amenities just around the corner- groceries, ATM, eateries and Gloucester Road tube station.
On Saturday night I went to Wembley Arena to see some old dinosaurs of rock all on the same bill - Journey, Foreigner and Styx - anyone remember them? They were all big in the 1970's and 80's. It was a huge show. Also I was mildly pleased with myself for successfully navigating the tube system to get out to Wembley. A multitude of punters was exiting Wembley Stadium as people were trying to get into the Arena - people everywhere.
I went to church on Sunday morning, and St Stephens Anglican church was just around the corner. It was a style of service I hadn't seen before in an Anglican church, being aligned more closely with the Catholic tradition, and also featured a great little choir, a sung service and lots of incense.
On Sunday evening I attended a concert at the Guards Museum and Chapel featuring the military bands of the Coldstream Guards and the US Army Band Europe. Great stuff.
The Museum itself was fascinating as well, featuring historical displays from the various regiments of Foot Guards. The Guards Division is assigned officially to protect the royal family and to attend to a host of ceremonial duties. The 5 regiments of Foot Guards consist of the Grenadiers, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards.
Today was quietly spent making arrangements for later in the week, such as some shows and transport arrangements. I wandered up the road to Knightsbridge this afternoon and wandered through Harrods. I have to say that Harrods was a bit underwhelming for me. It's just a big shop!

Bob I remember the guy in uniform outside the men's toilet at Harrods demanding "One Pound please" when I was there. A pouind for a pee!!!! So I hung on as a matter of principle.
Yours truly Bob the only bloke in uniform I saw at Harrods was a six foot teddy bear standing guard at the entrance to the toy department!
