So today is the day! Diving with sharks! I said goodbye to mother and Michael has offered to send various limbs home in boxes which is nice of him! If we both get eaten I've told the receptionist she should give us discount on the room!
Got up and went for breakfast at McDonald's!!! The only vegetarian breakfast they offer here is fish so had that, then remembered I'm diving with sharks! Fabulous! I'm teasing them!
Got a taxi to the aquarium which is near the Patronas Towers and at 10.30 the doors opened, we waited in the suicidal queue but there was only two of us diving today! Score! No third person getting in my view!
We chose this aquarium as it protects sharks and works with a lot of charities to stop shark hunting for shark fin soup which is big over here.
At 11 a Malay boy called 'Andrew' collected us and we had to walk though all the back area of the aquarium which was crazy! He said we were not alowed to take pictures incase we said they were treating the animals in a mean way. He was hilarious though! I guess its his job to keep people entertained!
Walked to an office area and had to read and sign a contract, we basicly signed our life away, it was 5 pages long and we couldn't be bothered to read it so just signed, what could go wrong anyway?
There was a full page that was a check list of things that if you have you couldn't do it, I literally had about 75% of them. No joke! We looked at each other, closed out eyes and ticked 'no' all the way down the sheet! The guy did see my inhaler though and I told him it was my friends haha!
We got a free 'Cage Rage' diving tshirt then walked to the changing area! Got our wetsuits and after struggling for 5 minutes Michael realised he had put his on backwards! Moron! I had to grab his ankles while he clung onto the wall and peel him out of the suit!
It's Malaysian Independence Day today so the other divers that work there are taking a flag in the tank with them while they feed the fish!
When we were ready we walked across the bridge and got in the tank! We were in a cage though! It was crazy! There was so many fish, sharks, sting rays, turtles, eels and all sorts of things! Michael knew what they were as he has a fish fetish but they just looked pretty to me!
We were supposed to dive for 20 minutes but as Andrew liked us he let us have 27 minutes! He was crazy, he does it every day so he closed his eyes and was falling asleep! Hah doing kart wheels, floating upside down and dancing!
The cage is near the underwater tunnel so everyone in the tunnel can see you, I think I will appear in about 3845 Asian holiday photos albums! They loved it! Had to constantly smile and wave!
Three western girls walked past and Michael swore at them which he said was 'subtle'... Maybe about as subtle as being in a huge tank surrounded by sharks. They put a mannequin in the tank as well and I may have done one little thrust to which Michael's oxygen tank nearly exploded as he was laughing, looked round and 26 Muslim couples were looking at me. Fabulous.
At one point there was a photographer (blog title picture) but he was rubbish! He kept missing all the sharks and every photo was blurry!
Got out of the tank and it was boiling hot! Got showered and changed into our canary yellow 'Cage Rage' T-shirts, Michael didn't want to but we will never be seen in these again so I thought we should!
Andrew gave us certificates to say we had done it and said goodbye! We got to walk around the aquarium as well but I had wet hair!! :( we had air masks and goggles in the tank so we recognised all the people we waved at but they didn't know who we were! Just the couple you took 382 pictures of!!!
Went to go and look at the photos taken while we were in the tank and they were all rubbish! For gods sake I'm not getting back in!!! We didn't buy any but the guy let us take photos of the computer screen! We are travellers not tourists after all and £7 for a photo is ridiculous!
Michael loves fish a little bit to much so he was like a child running around looking at everything! There was a part where you could stick your head through a bubble under the water and I kicked kids out of the way to get to it while Michael took photos!!
The touch pool part was amazing! Never seen anything like it before! There was loads of kids though so these poor Sea Cucumbers were flying through the air when the staff wernt watching! Touched a baby shark and a weird crab as well!
There was a mini butterfly park inside the aquarium but as we have been to a proper one we didn't go in, the walls were like thick cling film though. I started rubbing a butterfly from outside and it liked it! It antenna were going wild!! He had clearly never been rubbed that way before!! Having sex with a butterfly! Michael was in hysterics but what if it has human babies!!!
After looking around the aquarium with the longest underwater tunnel in Asia (90 meters) and the bigger fresh water fish in the world we realised it wasn't as good as the aquariums we have been to before! Went to the cafeteria downstairs and I had Thai sweet and sour fish which was pretty good!
Got a taxi home at about 3 and chilled all afternoon, skyped mum to let her know I was alive but she was practically renting out my room already!
Got ready and got a taxi to Market Place Club to meet Clay and his friend Arjun. Got talking to a few other gays, I don't waste time you know but mostly sat with Michael, Clay, Arjun, Jorich and his boyfriend and my angel Gabrielle!
Went 'fishing' with Gabrielle which was hilarious! After this we went to get food, Arjun wanted Arabian food so he drove us all to a random restaurant where we tried Briyani rice and Falafel. Falafel is drier than Gandhi's flip flop I'm telling you! We drank natural yogurt while watching Chelsea Football on the big screen! Very random!
Arjun drove us all home at about 5!
