Got up at 8.30, got ready and walked to get some breakfast. Got a taxi from China Town to Bird Park at around 9.
Bird Park is the biggest walk in free-flight aviary in the world. It's absolutely huge! There are 4 different zones inside.
The different parts of the park include love aviary, brahminy land, bul Bul land, flamingo pond, parrot kiosk, bird gallery, hornbill park, world of parrots, oriental bird aviary, waterfall aviary, flightless birds and the nursery
There was supposed to be a bird show at the amphitheatre but it got cancelled as it started to rain!
I do a scrap book, which I only have 8 free pages left in, and Michael is doing a collage when he gets home so we both collected feathers all day to stick in them. I don't care about bird flu they are pretty.
Went into the bird education centre, saw baby chicks in an incubator! Was the cutest thing ever! Then saw another incubator with hatching am eggs in! Only a few had hatched though and I don't have the time to be waiting around so wanted to turn up the heat to get them moving! Michael said they would explode though! Haha
There are wild monkeys everywhere in Malaysia. There was a lot outside Bird Park as its situated in National Park. They are so cute but very cheeky so you have to watch your stuff!
Left Bird Park after 4 hours at 1, it was a long time to be looking at birds, once you have seen the big crazy ones the little chickens were boring! Did speak to a parrot though.
Got a taxi from outside the park back home, actually found one with a meter which is a never! Once we were in the taxi we realised we wanted to go to the other parks including butterfly park, orchid park and the islamic art museum all in the national park but we forgot.
Got home, chilled in the room for a bit till 5 then went to get some tea. Even though we have had western food most days we went for subway, who knows when we will get western again! We were ordering and a guy came to the counter as there was a cockroach in his sandwich! How gross is that! Walked straight out as did everyone else. Feel sorry for the workers but I would have been able to eat it.
So no more western food as in the stalls you can see all the food and how they make it!
Walked home with a guy from Belgium that stays in our hostel that thought it was funny we went for western food. He said he had been travelling for 3 months and would rather eat in the stalls. He has been in Australia and has only just come to Asia so he has no idea.
Wa supposed to go and meet Steven and friends for drinks tonight but Michael was tired so we stayed in!
Updated all of my scrap book and wrote some blogs all night!
