We drove onto Taupo, stopping on the way at a place called 'Thermal Wonderland' this is a place where there are geyzers, boiling mud pits, colloured waters and sulphur lakes, a very interesting a beautiful place to visit, looking at the effects of volcanic activity in the region of years ago. The smell of sulphur was so strong there, it was like rotten eggs!! we stayed in a B and B lodgings which were brilliant and a shame we were there for only one night. The next morning we got up early ready for a busy day, firstly we drove to the Huka Jet, this is a jet powered boat which is a high speed thrill ride, which was class, lots of 360 degree spins and lots of driving close to the edge of the water. These boats only need a few centimeters of water to move in. The boat takes you to the fantastic Huka falls, spectacular and powerfall waterfall. We both loved the ride and got a bit wet in the process after the water pours over the side of the boat from the 360 spins! From the Huka Jet we went onto a lava glass blowing gallery, we watched the glass blowing in action and looked at the glass on sale, with typically a glass vase costing $900 or 300 pounds!!! we then went onto a place called 'Adventure Land', it was more for kids but as there was go karts and quad bikes I (Andy) couldnt resist going, the go karts wernt as bad as i thought they would be but the track wasnt great with one line racing line, however they left us racing round for 40 minutes!!! i (Andy) won ofcourse but it was a good laugh. I (Andy) then did quad bikes on my own as Grace didnt want to, it was a good laugh but not very exciting on your own!!! we then looked at a few animals they had there namely an ostritch a pig and a donkey amongst others and then to finish we played crazy golf, which after Grace had a massive lead throughout lost it on the last hole to draw!! with I (Andy) clawed back 7 shots on the last hole to tie!! Each activity cost under a tenna so not bad value, especially golf 2 quid. We finally went to puzzel land, which was a big maze which took us ages!!! but good fun, we then made our way to Plamerston North
