Today, I unfortunately had to nurse a hangover. Last night got a little crazier than I expected, and some parts of the night I don't remember but I do remember that it was one of the best nights of my life! Kristy says she wasn't hungover, but a headache that lasts all day after a night out isn't a coincidence! As little as she claims it to be! Oh, and I mention last night was Monday?
But apart from that, the day was pretty lame. We got up and I needed to shower. For some reason, my freshly washed towel smelt terrible, and drying myself with it left me feeling grosser and dirtier than before I got in. After that we went and had breakfast, except the thought of porridge made me feel violently ill, so I opted for dry toast instead. Which the toaster burnt horribly. After that we retreated back into our room and closed the blinds, the sun was awfully bright today, I don't usually remember it being so bright and irritating.. Or I have just suddenly developed a serious case of light sensitivity.
We watched the movie 'Australia' which, I thought, was absolutely beautiful! If you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it! So that killed 2 and a half hours. For lunch we reheated the pasta we made the day before and had leftover spaghetti sandwiches. It tasted a lot better today than it did last night! Then it was the usual retreating back to the dark room. Kristy was an absolute gem and gave me some painkillers, and they actually worked! Which did surprise me a little. After that, I felt like I was capable to go for a walk.. At dusk.. When the evil little sun was disappearing. We had full intentions of getting an Italian Hot Chocolate with Ajah, but it was after 5pm, and must have closed. Or it did a Diagon Alley and disappeared on us. (That's for you Jessica May) So we ended up wandering around almost aimlessly, and checked out a few art shops. Then we went to Macca's and got a McCafe frappe while Ajah scabbed the free Wi-Fi. Dinner was looking better and better from Macca's, as we really didn't want to cook and it was so cheap! Most of the stuff is the same, but they called a few of the burgers different names to us.
When we trudged back home in the crisp, cool weather, we knew that our schmozzle of a room was waiting patiently for us to re-pack. Kristy let me put my 11 pairs of shoes in her Country Road bag, so now my suitcase can close really easy, and I don't need the little extender part open! That was pretty exciting to me :) Off to the capital, Wellington tomorrow! Grandma town!
