Last day in Simon's Town - reluctant to leave - this place has been a fabulous base for the whole of the Cape Town, Cape Point, Table Mountain area and we're going to miss it - a week has passed so quickly.
So we had breakfast at The Meeting Place and whilst we were eating about 30 Harleys went by - on their way to Cape Point no doubt - what a ride.
Then packed the car and headed off to Stellenbosch.
Quite an eye-opener.
En-route we passed a huge Township - miles of corrugated steel covered shacks - what the white man left the black after Apartheid - humbling.
Then into Stellenbosch to a further different Africa - Spier - a wine estate in the heart of South African wine country - with a style to match.
A huge room overlooking its own pool and activities on the estate to suit everyone's taste.
We took a walk from one end of the estate to other - from our room through the manor house, past Eight - a great restaurant - then on to the Cheetah Encounter and bird of prey exhibit - but more of those later.
Kate then spotted an African market and proceeded to have her hair braided - always knew she was barmy:-))
Then we had cocktails at Moyo - an incredible open air restaurant with a tremendous African vibe.
Them a gorgeous dinner in the hotel restaurant then we went for a moonlight swim in our private pool mmm...bliss
