What a day!
Up for a delicious breakfast - temperature up to 29 at 10am. Then on up to the Cheetah Outreach Programme at the far end of the estate where we're escorted into an enclosure to come face to face with a beautiful fully grown male Cheetah - and then we were invited to stroke the biggest cat I've been this close to - awe inspiring - particularly when you take account of all the safety brief we had been given prior to entry into the enclosure - this may be used to human contact but the occasional flick of the tail and look of disdain this cat gave us certainly told us who was in charge - and it certainly wasn't us!
Then on to the birds of prey - everything from Kestrels to Vulture - and we also managed to handle an owl called Gemma - no kidding.
Then we stopped in to the Spier Wine Tasting Experience - well it'd be rude not to - and tasted 6 of their finest - walking out several hundred Rand lighter and a case ready to go.
Returning to the hotel via a cocktail at Moyo (again...oops) we spent a very relaxing hour by and in the large hotel pool - by which time it was about 38 degrees.
Then we returned to the wine end of the estate and had a fab hour on off-road Segways - brilliant - I want one - only drawback is that they're about $10 000 each!
The evening was finished off with a visit to the Moyo restaurant - rare impala steak was just one of the delicacies on offer - and delicious it was too - and amongst the desserts on offer in this very African eatery was...apple crumble and custard - honest.
The music and dancing was phenomenal - everyone seems to have inherent rhythm round here - don't know where they get it from :-))

Mandy Hi you two. It sounds like you are having a fab time. I have spent many a happy hour at Spier - hotel, concerts, cheetahs and Moyo. It is certainly an experience. Keep on having fun and its great to hear about it.
Wenda Segways are great fun, glad you finally got to try them out. Only issue is they are not legal on public land in the UK x
