A lot of new things are happening right now and big changes are everywhere. First off I finally landed a job but definitely not in what I thought it was going to be. Training under a friend of mine in Mountain Home I dabbled in personal training with 2 or 3 clients who were all very successful. Going through a transformation myself I am sympathetic to the client who really wants to make some changes. So I applied to a position at Sport fitness thinking maybe I could get into sales and work my way back into personal training or fitness management. Upon coming in and talking to them, they decided to hire me straight into personal training after some test an quizzes etc. So two interviews later and I am a personal trainer again. I have to go through several weeks of training and the pay is not that great until I get an accredited certification. The interesting thing is the Elgin Community College has a degree in health and wellness management where you graduate with ACE group fitness and ACSM personal training certificate. It a two year program and is very comprehensive. Couple that program with my business management degree and I feel like I could be very competitive in this inSo I am thinking that is the plan for now is to get as much information on this program as possible this coming Monday because August is upon and time is short. Then maybe I can grab an ISSA or ACE PT cert over the Christmas break too.
Now the reason I brought up Elgin is because last night me and Jaclyn stayed in our new place together. Years ago Jaclyn and Her brother bought a house out in South Elgin and as of this weekend we are all going to be here. It's a 3/4 bedroom house and I think it will be a nice transition for me and Jaclyn. So, last night was our first night in the new house. Let me kick this blog up a notch by explaining an interesting situation that happened this morning. Jaclyn and I were the first ones awake this morning at 8:30am. We decided we needed some coffee to get this day going and get energized to finish unpacking, cleaning, and organizing. While making coffee Jaclyn and I searched and eventually found coffee filters, grounds, creamer, and sugar. While I was cleaning out the coffee pot and learning how to use the new to me coffee maker I asked Jaclyn to fill up the reservoir with water. Jaclyn looked at me puzzled and said "Water doesn't go into the coffee maker!" I said "Jaclyn do you think the coffee just comes from the grounds"? She then explained to me that at work no one puts coffee and it is just magically produced by the machine. I kindly explained to her that I'm sure a poor janitor or office receptionist/is making the coffee for the office in the morning. Sad that all the credit was going to this "magical" coffee maker that produces something from nothing! I did also inform her some industrial coffee makers have water lines going directly into them. Anyway Jaclyn learned something valuable this morning and I got a great laugh! What an amazing start to our life living together. It's going to be a long day.
