Today we left Osaka and caught a train to Kanazawa. This place seems really beautiful - there's a mix of ultra-modern and old-fashioned that goes really well together. Even the train station has an attraction - a huge, torii-gate like structure at its Eastern exit! We also went to visit another open air food-market, filled with fish and fruit.
Unfortunately I've had a bad stomach today, so most of the afternoon has been spent at our guesthouse. The place had only one review online - we thought it was probably from the owner, but took a punt anyway, and it has paid off big time. The hostel is fantastic, really clean, and more like a traditional inn than the inn we stayed at in Tokyo! It took us a long time to find our way here, but it was worth every backpack weighted step.
There's tonnes to see and do in Kanazawa, so tomorrow, whether I'm still feeling poorly or not, I intend to get out there and give this place the attention it deserves.
