HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So, 2010 is the first year I have started in a place other than England. About time too!
I started 2009 as a straight guy living, drinking and occasionally studying in Lancaster. I start 2009 as a gay living, drinking and occasionally working in Berlin! But I've done enough "looking back" posts, so it's time to look forward to what 2010 has in store for me!
Things I'm looking forward to:
1)Visits!
So far in Berlin, I've had visits by my brother, Caron, and Laura and Jordan. Next up in Berlin are Jonas and Tom at the end of January. Everyone is welcome, especially my English friends, so bagsy some dates and come visit me.
2)Boys!
There is no shortage of pretty boys in Berlin, and I look forward to getting to know some more. And now the initial overwhelming "OMG I'm in Berlin" feeling is wearing off slightly, I'm perhaps in a better mental position to get a *real* boyfriend. But then it would be a crime to restrict myself to just one man, so we'll see.
3)Stockholm!
Although life in Berlin feels like a holiday much of the time, I still need my holidays! I'm hoping to visit various European places during the year, with Vilnius top of my list, but I need my annual Stockholm fix. Even if Alcazar stole Linda Bengtzing's song, I shall be going to Sweden for Melodifestivalen!
4)Oslo!
I'm finally doing it! I have my flights booked (thanks Santa Mum and Dad!), and will be attending my first Eurovision Song Contest live in Oslo! 10 days of drunken debauchery and dancing await, and it will be the best use of my savings ever!
5)Summer!
Berlin is great, but rather chilly. There's deep snow today. Which is all well and good, but I can't wait for sunny Berlin summer!
6)Adventures!
Life in Berlin is one big adventure, but I'm sure 2010 will bring many more scandalous exploits and silliness to share with the world on my blog.
And my New Years Resolution: Ich muss mehr Deutsch sprechen!!!
Last year my resolution was to never say "no" to anything, and it ended up with me coming out, moving abroad, and ending up in various exciting situations. This year's resolution will be harder work, probably less fun, and will require a little notebook to write down new words I learn. But I will do it!!!
