Bonjour!
It is so crazy that there are only two weeks left of being in France. I still haveso much to do and Erin and I are starting to try to jam pack everything into these last two weeks.
Today we got to cross seeing the inside of the Notre Dame off of our list. :) It was absolutely stunning! The cathedral celings are unbelievable and the stained glass was so pretty. I got to light a canle in remembrance of my grandpa while I was there so it made it a very special experience for me. It is hard to put into words what the inside of the church looked like because it was so intricate and so dramatic and beautiful. I am going to post some of the pictures after I finish this blog post! The outside of the Notre Dame is just as stunning with the intricate architcture and the gargoyles and saints on the building. It must have ben quite a process to make the Notre Dame because everywhere you look, there is some little detail carved into the building. Erin and I got to spend about an hour there before heading to do a little shopping in the Chatelet area. The Chatelet area is so crazy whe it comes to shopping because every store we went in had at least two levels. One store had five floors!!!! It was tiring to shop there because there was so much to look at! We ended up being a tad successful - I got a headband and Erin got a necklace. :) So, now whenever I wear that headband and someone asks where I got it, I can say Paris....Now I just hope someone asks where I got it from. :) haha!
We had a cute little dinner at this cafe on a corner in Chatelet before making the adventure back to Evry. It was a great day spent in Paris except for seeing a homeless man on the street with a dog next to him and four little puppies all curled up. Erin and I were tempted to cneakily steal the puppies but we knew our parents probably wouldn't be too happy if they had to pay for our "souvenirs" from France to be able to be flown home with us in dog crates.
Anyway, tomorrow will just be a day of classes, running, and just hanging out in Evry and going to the mall with everyone to buy some little groceries for the trip to Brussels on Tuesday morning!! We leave at 5:45am! So, wish me luck on getting up for that trip on Tuesday! It is so early and we aren't stopping so buying something to eat for breakfast on the bus is a must. I cannot wait for the Brussels trp! I have no idea what Belgium will be like. :)
Talk to you tomorrow!
Au Revoir,
Tori
