Dijon Deja Vu:
I was in Dijon several years ago on another Blue Marble bike trip. As I was riding into Dijon yesterday, I was trying to remember what the city was like. Sadly, I've been on enough bike trips that they start to run together and I really couldn't remember much about Dijon
So as I've been walking around the last two days, I keep having déja vu moments... oh, yeah, I've seen that before! Surprisingly enough, by chance, I even wound up in the same hotel Blue Marble uses. I booked it over the phone and when I rode in I could even remember where they were going to have me store my bike.
One silly thing that I do remember from that visit was a lunch I missed. I went sightseeing and several others went to a restaurant near the hotel. When I came back, I found them all eating steaming piles of mussels and fries that put to shame the boring sandwich I had that day. My memory of them in that restaurant was very vivid. Of course, that mistake had to be corrected today, so I had a kilo of moules and all you can eat frites washed down with a nice vin blanc at the same restaurant. :-)
One other thing, I don't know who the guy was that decided to take mustard and mix it with white wine, but Dijon mustard is really good. Someone on this list is likely to be getting a selection of mustards for Christmas... unless I get caught in the country with no food and miles to go before I sleep!
