Been fun to watch as you move across the country. Congratulations on arriving at Bar Harbor!
When do you start the bike ride home?

This was an awesome way to share your many road experiences with all of us. Thank you for doing that! I'm sorry to see it coming to an end as I always looked forward to what was around the next bend for you.
Take care - jackie

You probably rode right past Scott's old neighborhood! He lived in Portsmouth, NH for many years. It looks so pretty. We really had fun in Boston over Labor Day! Looks like you are enjoying yourself too. Take care!

Looks like the ride and good times with your riding friends is like a great desert for your epic ride :D call me when you get into town so I can barrage you with questions. My buddy and I are talking about doing the across-the-good-ole-usa in the next two years or so. if I can get a sabatical anyways! I continue to be more than jealous and live vicariously through my friend... ENJOY! mary ellen

I think that Stephanie, the fruit of Connie's loins, needs to be my new BFF. Needless to say, I got a good laugh from your last post.
Glad to hear that you're safe!

Iowa's a lot prettier than I thought. I've only been to DesMoines in a snow storm. Not as pretty....
You look like you're having fun! When do you get to the east coast? I'll be in Boston for Labor Day. If you're around, I'll buy you a bucket of steamers & a beer! Take care!!!

Tom... thought I would keep you filled in on the family news. Josh and Gretchen found out yesterday that when they have their baby the first of 2010 it will be a little Boy.... Love, Janell

Hi Tom -
Enjoyed reading your post about riding through the endless corn and I now want to go visit Pontiac! Sounds lovely and especially nice as it was 109 here today, ugh! Funny you ended up on another site too; you're right would not have guessed that was you. Have fun and thank for the glimpse into your riding world...Paula

Tom, after reading the cyclist questions you fielded in LaCrosse, I can't help myself by adding a few nuts & bolts questions. What all are you carrying and is there anything you wish you could have on the trip (aside from a portable brewery weighing less than 3 lbs.) For example, do you carry spokes, tires, cables, how much water do you take on the bike, sleeping bag, tent, electronic devices, much warm clothing, changes of clothes, do you ever camp out, essential tools, how many pairs of shoes, a book.... Hi Tom - Tell La Crosse hello for me. That's where I spent my summers while I was growing up. Lots of big Italian families there.
Take care and be safe - Jackie

Anne and I went to New Ulm for our first anniversary, fond memories of the Schell Brewery and the tasting room. At that time samples were self-served out of bottles passed along the tables. Let's just say being in the back corner where all the bottles collect was fortuitous.
While you're in Rochester, if you happen to swing by my old house take a picture of it for me, would you? 631 30th St. NE. Say hi to Carl & Laurie for us.

Hey Tom! Good to see you are enjoying yourself. I am sitting at ASE in a conference room with Greg Kevern. I have just discussed your travels with ASE (they were quite interested) and showed them some pictures. Greg also says hello!
Have fun! Your blogs and pictures are always interesting!
