Congrats on showing the Rockies who's boss! When I was reading about your adventures through some of the more desolate areas, I was wondering how you could maintian your sanity. Yelling out at mile markers in various languages answers my question.
What a great experience.

Hi Tom - I agree Telluride is spectacular! When you take the Gondola to Allred's the midway point, exit to the left. Walk out about 500 yards to the exact area where you can see Telluride on one side and Mountain Village on the other. That's where Scott and I were married...on skis! It was beautiful in March with snow. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the spring! Take care!

the cycling gods must have sensed that i was hitting tom's blog because he called me mid keystroke. sounds like tom is enjoying the open rode. he is making good progress but he is wishing that he would have accepted the bicycle sail that i made for him now that he has the jet stream at his back.

so does that mean you need to return to the point of break down to still qualify this as a "Ride Across America".
Tom is having the Arizona send off 5/17 at my house. BBQ, spokes and yokes. Everyone is welcome.

Dude. I am so sorry you had to take a vacation from your vacation!! Is this a different bike than you used to traipse around Europe? ;-) So --- if you're home, home --- in Scottsdale, right? ---- when are we meeting you for a beer?????? ;-)
I absolutely LOVE the way you write, Tom! Please tell me you'll be publishing your travels!!!

I was just thinking about you last night, wondering why we hadn't yet heard about the start of your trip. Good luck my friend. I am, as ever, sick with jealously but so excited for you! We can't wait to welcome you to the East Coast in September? October? For the New Year?

Good luck and safe riding! I'll get Mel's info to you so you can look her up while in CO. And I'll see you sometime in August near Cleveland.
