Rained all night and still heavy rain in the morning. Breaky then Sue brought Lewis back in ( on the motorbike in pouring rain). Grandy, Sue, Liam and Rob headed out in the rain to do some shopping in the Old Town. First stop one of the thousands of tailor shops to get Lew fitted up for a suit ( for graduation). Then Grandy and I to another tailor to get pants made, then down to a shoe shop(friends of Sue's) for boys to have Vans and other shoes made. All measured to your individual feet. Heaps of shopping and shops.
Mini van waiting back at hotel at 10.30am. All the Ryan's and us headed off to Danang (about 30 mins) to the big shopping centers in there. Big C was an experience and jam packed with Vietnamese as it is Tet soon. Shopping in there is like driving on the roads but no horns honking. No giving way with your trolley in there!!
Had Vietnamese KFC which was an experience as given to you on china plates and drinks are in a glass. Burgers were 'would you like chicken with your mayo?' and lots of combos were with rice. Good fun.
Off to the bowling alley where we had a couple of games. Adults versing adults and kids versing kids. Caitlyn easily beat all the boys first game then Liam took out the second. In the adults Craig took the honors (Poppy and Grandy having never bowled for many years had the first 5 rounds with gutter balls and no score- before hitting some form)
Second game won by Wayne with Poppy even improving so much he beat Robyn (probably not too hard to do!)
Returned to hotel at 5pm - rain finally stopped so Craig, Max and Jack went back home (boys start school tomorrow) and we all headed into the Old Town. First stop for Lewis' suit which was already made. Just a couple of alterations but looks great on. Then to another tailor where Wayne ordered suit and a couple of trousers then to DVD shop for some $1 DVDs. Finally back to shoe shop for Kobe to order some Vans and Grandy a pair of runners.
Yummy dinner at Hung Sun on the waterfront. Delicious fried pumpkin with garlic. Tasted divine.
Back to hotel about 8.30pm- Kobe back to Ryan's as heading to school tomorrow with Max.
Grandy, Lewis and Rob went across road to optometrists for Lew to order some new frames and lenses. On the way Lewis was mobbed by around 7 teenage Vietnamese girls all wanting individual pictures taken with him. All giggling and carrying on.
People watching would have thought he was some kind of celebrity.
Very funny end to a great day.
