Lewis picked up by Sue at 6am to do boxing class run by Craig. The rest of us had breaky and then caught a taxi down to Anbung Beach which is the Ryan's summer hangout. Great spot with ex-pat cafe right on the beach, lots of daybeds, pool table and iced coffee. Overcast day - had rained overnight so from there went back to Ryan's to check out their house. Poppy took a ride on the back of Sue's motorbike which he loved. Great house and location and they look very settled with 3 cats and a dog! Even the young Vietnamese neighbors came in to say hi. Kobe staying here and loving it. Caitlyn, Max, Kobe and Jack stayed at home as too many to go on motorbike ride.
Headed back to hotel where Wayne went with Craig to hire a motorbike and Grandy and Poppy arranged a tour to My Son which are 10th century Cham ruins. They had a great afternoon with their own private minibus and guide. They even got to see some traditional dancing!
Wayne, Lewis, Liam and Rob got on motorbikes with Craig and Sue and headed off into the Vietnamese countryside. Got to places not many tourists get to see so we had lots of people smiling and waving as we rode through. Stopped for a traditional coffee and for 6 coffees cost $1.50. Saw some beautiful countryside and even met a very funny old lady who only wanted her picture taken so she could see herself. Went over 2 floating bridges, the first one was very rickety and falling apart.
Wayne and Lewis rode together, and Lewis had a couple of goes of being driver and went well.
After 4 hours our backsides were pretty sore so headed back.
Grandy and Poppy joined us at Dingo Deli run by Aussie ex-pat. Finally had a fix of some 'normal' Western Food, as compared to the Vietnamese/ Cambodian version of Western food. Been a few weeks now without it.
Kobe and Max came back to hotel to stay with Liam and Lewis went to Ryan's to stay.
We headed into the Old Town as the Lantern Festival was on. This happens each month on full moon and all of the Old Town is lit only by lantern. Very beautiful. Boys got an ice cream from Dingo Delis ice cream parlour. Just started to spit rain so back to hotel. All pretty tired
