Up early to get in buffet breaky before we left at 7am. Gorgeous views of sunrise from hotel rooms. Lovely spot.
Piled into mini van for our 6 1/2 hour journey to Hoi An. Lots of car horn tooting, close calls and wonderful countryside.
Arrived Vinh Hung 2 Hotel. Very nice small boutique kind of hotel. All on ground floor so Grandy and Poppy not needing to climb stairs.
Rang Ryan's - not answering (they now live in Hoi An for past year almost) so off into the Old Town of Hoi An (about a 2 minute walk) - hotel in great spot.
Walked down to waterfront , so quaint. Hoi An was never bombed in the wars so many of the buildings are the original so as you walk through you get a great feeling of what old Vietnam would have felt like- cobbled streets, with little shops lit by lanterns. Gorgeous. Lunch at No. 96 on waterfront. In November all these little restaurants that are on the waterfront of river were flooded and the restaurant had a marker above Wayne's head.
From there we wandered around all the quaint shops. Boys got some T-shirts and singlets and we ordered a painting ( same as we had seen at the Sailing Club in Nha Trang) they hope to have it ready by 10th.
Returned to hotel and the Ryan's (less Craig who was doing an assignment) met us. They all ride motorbikes or electric bikes. Off to Ganesh (Indian restaurant) for dinner. Yummo!
Yes, all we do is eat!
Grandy took a ride on the back of the motorbike with Sue to the ATM, which she loved. Then Sue,Jack, Max and Kobe all on one motorbike headed back to their house as Kobe staying there while we are in Hoi An.

Jill Yes I think it's the food guide to Vietnam ! Be careful on those motorbikes. Give u all a hug XXXXX XX Breaky, lunch, dinner - not sure how Liam will go at googa after eating so much or 5 weeks! Think we will all need a detox Now quite cold in the north- scarves and big coats - can see you have been sweltering particularly in the overnight temps. Xxx
Kym Hartley Hello Mrs Tozer,Wayne & boys After your reply email to Rob & I finally realised you have spent all your time and energy doing these great blogs and photos I spent ages reading all & looking at your photos and am up to date!!! Yes you are doing a lot of eating!! and travelling in mini vans tooting ! Not sure about too much walking !! The trip sounds fantastic and you both look relaxed and happy in your latest pic which is great to see. Just hit me Blake and Liam go to Googa in few weeks and haven't started packing anything yet! Got sick after return from holidays and really hating work at moment ... anyway your blogs and photos are great and look forward to the next edition and catching up for our birthdays drinks on your return Still fitting walking in but food and beer nearly 3 times a day!!! Now starting to fill up with our shopping. So Wayne not happy about how much we are carrying Absolutely loving every second. Now going way too quick. Many of the blogs from Camboda still not in as we were using a different site. Sorry for some of the long detail but that is for our benefit for remembering!!!! Home end of next week. That frightening! Very cold now in te north. - have the thermals and fleece out Xx
