Thursday 11th October
So after a comfortable flight we are back in KK in the same hotel Sabah Oriental and we also got the same room as before. You should never really go back to a hotel just because you liked it in the first place as its never the same as this felt just like that although we was pleased we managed to get the same room which was in the 11th floor and had a spectacular view of Mount Kinabalou.
We got the shuttle bus into the City and enjoyed a meal and wander before returning to hotel and having surprise chat on FaceTime with Mum and Cath as its Mum's birthday tomorrow.
Friday 12th October
Phoned Mum to wish her happy birthday had a lovely chat she said Sam and Nick went for dinner so she was happy.
Didn't do much today. We got the shuttle bus into city and had a walk along the Waterfront to some Resturants we hadn't visited before and we spotted an Irish bar, so in honour of Mum thought this would be the appropriate place to eat. We sat on the front and just managed to see abit of a sunset, though nothing spectacular.
Lee was saying the day before he felt a bit home sick for Shepherd's Pie so when we picked up the menu there was Shepherd's Pie so he ordered that whilst I had fish n chips. Going to these theme pubs you never know what your going to get dished up but when it arrived it looked like proper SP with a little bowl of gravy Lee said it was delicious and tasted home made, and my fish n chips were scrummy as well, washed down with a nice cold Strongbow
We had a lovely walk back to the hotel not realising it was so close.
Saturday 13th October
Today we decided to go the beach, as we had visited Manukan and Mamutik before we decided on Sapi today. We got a discount ticket from the Concierge and the hotel shuttle bus took us to the jetty. We booked a ticket and got a boat across to Sapi. We was really disappointed as it was only a small island and certainly not picturesque. It was a bit messy but We found a nice little spot and decided to make the most of being on a beach on a hot sunny day in Borneo. Lee went for a wander and said there were signs warning about jellyfish stings so we decided not to go swimming or snorkelling. We had a lovely few hours just reading and resting in the beach until it was time to get the boat back.
We then had something to eat and returned to our hotel.
The next few days we have just done nothing really other than relax, sit by the pool, plan a few more things for Australia then it's off to Kuching for the last few days Borneo.
