After Dr Who we went to Cardiff Castle which is right in the centre of town. It was a really amazing structure and started with the Romans and played an important part in history. My favourite bit was the castle wall, even though much of them had been rebuilt. There was a big festival on within the castle and I got to help graffiti the Welsh Dragon ( as you can see in the photo). The man said I was a natural. Darcy had a go as well.
We went inside the Norman Keep which was on top of a little hill within the walls and climbed to the top. Then we went inside the palace which was amazing and had very fancy ceilings and walls. The owner gifted the castle to the city after the Second World War and it was meant to be for the public and citizens of Wales.
Underneath we went into the Welsh Army Museum which we found as we were leaving. I think Mum and Dad liked it more than I did.
Afterwards we drove to our cabin On the Wales English border and the Sat Nav took us down really narrow roads with high hedges. The side mirrors were scraping on the hedges so it was just as well we did not see any cars because we would have been stuck. Mum called it the alternative route but Dad did not seem to enjoy it as much. The place we are staying is great and we had dinner in the old house ( huge manor house) and then I went for a swim in the pool before going to bed.
