On Thursday mum and I stayed home for a rest day as I was feeling sick and the Boys went on tours of Lords cricket Ground and the Arsenal Stadium.
Yesterday we all went to the British Museum to see the Sunken treasures exhibition about Thonis-Herculieon and Canopus which were ancient Egyptian cities that over time sunk into the sea. Archaeologist have been excavating them over the last 20 years and have uncovered about 5%, which leaves a lot more to find.
After that we had some lunch and went to see the other sections of the museum including, Ancient Egypt where we saw the Rosetta Stone which is a Stela written in three languages which when discovered meant the archaeologists and historians could translate hieroglyphics. We then walked through the rooms with Etruscans, Assyrians, Romans and the Greeks. After a little break we then went to the Islamic world and the Egyptian mummies and death displays. My favourite was the Islamic display and the Greeks, especially the pottery. There was a shrunken man in the mummies area which was very creepy. It was Darcy's favourite. Mum loved the Etruscans and Dad liked the Assyrians the best.
We then went outside and had a hotdog on the steps while we waited for Dad. Mum then went to Paddington station to get our tickets to Bristol and the rest of us caught the No. 134 double decker bus home to Muswell Hill.
We had a yummy dinner at Toffs in Muswell Hill and we are now on our way Bristol to stay with Mum's cousin Myee and family.
