Day 53-56, 4-7 August 2014, Fuengirola, Spain - Housesitting on Las Costa del Gatos is fabulous - I feel for the furballs over the last few days though because my neighbours have been having their dead lawn removed and replaced with concrete (and any day now... pavers). Los Gatos however really (really) don't like the sound of the angle grinder. It's not my cup of tea either, but I can successfully drown it out with my Shortcut to Spanish online course blaring and me blaring along with it. It has been progressing well since I started on Monday - really immersing myself this week and will go through the whole thing again next week to cement it further. Had an outing to the Tuesday market at the fairground and have learned the most important word going - Cuantas? How Much? Of course the next trick is understanding the answer. Probably managed half the vege shopping in Spanish. Ordered my breakfast in Spanish (helps to go to the same cafe once a week... much more disposed to putting up with me!) Managing on the bus and managed at the grocery store too - paying with una tarjeta de credito means a bit more talking which is good. Today's picture? Well! Saw a cartoon similar to this a year or so back which made me laugh at the time. Almost fell over on the beach front the other day when I saw a couple that almost exactly fit the cartoon. To be truthful - the lady half was almost wearing a bikini top (coulda been a belt, but I think it was a top) and her gentleman did have a shirt almost on (unbuttoned down the front). Probably wouldn't have appreciated me snapping a photo of them in their "letting it all hang out glory". Good on them. No problems at all when people let it all hang out on the beach... Only have a problem when pots call kettles fat! Right. Enough procrastination. Back to the studies. Plans for the next few days? Estudiar, Estudiar, Estudiar - then fairground flea market on Saturday morning. Big Revision - Sunday. Monday - huge outing - day trip to Nerja & Frigiliana and it's caves. The light at the end of the tunnel.
