Welcome to 'The New Normal'. For those who followed us during our year of 'Not Being Grownups' from July 2012-2013, this is the sequel. After less than a year back in Sydney we hit the road again - just Vivienne from June 2014, solo tripping northern Europe, then James joined in December 2014 after retiring from the Navy after 23 years. We have continued our journey together down the path of 'the New Normal'. What do we mean by that? Having travelled for a year 'NotBeingGrownups' and covered 35 countries with countless amazing experiences, we just didn't want to go back. Back to the routine, back to our house, back to 'real life' as people around us defined it, in short we didn't want to go 'back to normal'. So we redefined our goals and our life and designed our New Normal - travelling, house-sitting and experiencing as much as we can of this big blue marble. The end of this blog finds us in Amsterdam, soon to head to Ireland, Dubai and Langkawi. But no - this is not the end! It means more than you know and our circle of friends now stretches around the globe - which makes it a very small world indeed.
