All These Things That I've Done
When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I want to stand up, I want to let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't.
I want to shine on in the hearts of men
I wan a meaning from the back of my broken hand.
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affections, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no
Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put neon the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
I got soul but I'm not a soldier
I got soul but I'm not a soldier
I got soul but I'm not a soldier.........
Over and again, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
(Time, truth, hearts)
If you can hold on
If you can hold on
The Killers
The day started with a leisurely breakfast. The morning was over cast and cool as we set off at 07:30. The guide book plan for today was 20 km but the bulk of the group now have decided to continue a further 7 km to stay in an old church which is converted to an albergue and a communal dinner is served to pilgrims. A sing song is also being planned. I set off with Anny Sandra and Kate but soon find myself walking ahead! For whatever reason I'm feeling very strong today. The country side is glorious, rolling hills of distant pine trees, with fields of ripened golden barley, green wheat fields, rich vineyards and with all that the country side is filled with stunning red poppy's, flowers of red, white, blue and yellow. Truly magnificent. All this enclosed by walls of stately mountains, covered in by blue skies and playful cotton soft clouds. This could be heaven on earth! Yes I may be living the dream after all. I arrive in Santo Domingo de la Calzada (21 km) at 12:30. Perfect for lunch outside the towns famous cathedral, which is home to a c*** and hen for centuries. If you want to know why the you will have to google it! I was sitting outside a cafe enjoying lunch when I heard that Anny Sandra and Kate were looking for me.
I headed off to meet them so they could join the rest of us. When I got there Anny Sandra was very disorientated and weak, almost faint. The rash she had above her ankles had now spread to her feet. With the help of other pilgrims we got her lying down with her feet up. She was shivering with cold and it was 25 degrees. Two Australian doctors also helped, the recommended anti histamine, rest, food & sugar. She was told not to walk anymore today. After a while she came round and managed to eat lunch. She was still near exhaustion. I booked her into a hotel for the night, where she has slept all afternoon! All the gang have gone on to the next stop approx 7 km away! I am waiting for Emma to text me with their plans for tomorrow so that we can hopefully catch up again in the next day or two. For tonight I guess it's catch up on sleep and rest and tomorrow will what tomorrow brings!
PS
Emma had been in touch with home and everything she needed to put in place is now sorted so she is here till she reaches Santiago. She also got the results of her exams, all passed so she too is a happy camper!

Mairead TP, I think you may have missed your calling.. you should be a journalist or author, you have a lovely turn of phrase and it is very enjoyable and interesting to read your blogs. Hope your friend recovers and the journey continues as planned.
T. P. I wonder could I write a book like Siobhan
Helen O'Leary I think you should read siobhan's book first! ! Keep on blogging.
