Today did not start off well. For starters, I slept through my alarm which resulted in me waking up at 7:30am in a state of panic (my flight was at 9am). I chucked my clothes on, said my goodbyes and ran (ish) to the nearest bus stop. The shuttle came pretty quick but it still took 40 minutes to get to the airport. Unfortunately, due to my stupidity I got off the bus at the Domestic Airport and not the International. I waited for 10 minutes for the free shuttle, by this point it was 8:30am and I was on the verge of tears. Obviously when I got to the check in desk it was closed but some man took pity on me (probably because I looked like I was on the verge of tears!) and made me his VIP, shortcuts to the baggage claim, rushed me through the snanners and I got to the boarding desk at 8:58am!
I looked around in confusement to see everyone sat in the lounge area. I then found out no one had boarded the plane and no one did board till 10:30am because of the fog! I finally landed in Sydney at 1pm (oz time) after a fairly quick flight. Unfortunately, I had had a disagreement with my Sydney hostel so had no where to stay. So I wandered aimlessly along the streets until I got to my first hostel of choice only to find that their reception was only open 4 hours a day. So I took this as a sign so headed to my other chosen hostel. It was located in King's Cross which is a renowned red light district full of half naked ladies and the homeless. Luckily the hostel was my light at the end of the tunnel!
I checked in, chatted to the friendly reception guys who gave me lots of advice for whilst I was staying in Australia! I then went for a 'nap' at 7pm, only to wake up at 8am! Uh oh happened again!
