Today was my first proper day at Paihia, but the day that I would also be checking out, strange! I got up, packed up my stuff and popped it in the luggage area. My bus wasn't leaving till 4.30 so I had plenty of time.

I decided to walk out to Hararu Falls via Waitangi. It took 2 and a half hours to get there and I walked through mainly forestry over a couple of bridges and also a boardwalk section where I passed through a large mangrove forest. I was quite paranoid about slipping off the boardwalk and falling in, the mangrove was very swampy! When I reached Hararu Falls I was pretty impressed with the beauty. I've seen alot of waterfalls on my trip but this was something else!

I then walked back along the road towards Paihia rather than walking back through the forest. It took a coupla hours and I was knackered by the time I got back. After walking back along the beach towards the hostel I freshened up sorted out my luggage and got ready to go to the bus.

The bus only took just over 3 hours so I arrived back in Auckland at 8pm. Checked back into my previous hostel (the one that I liked) and had some farewell drinks with one of the girls. Unfortunately this resulted in going to Globe Bar (backpacker bar) dancing on the stage, and going to McDonalds on the way home! Uh oh I wouldnt be so fresh for my flight in the morning!!!
