Now, the best thing at this hostel is the fact you get free breakfast (cereal and toast, no fryup obviously!) and free tea and coffee all day which is very useful to me as I have turned into a bit of a coffee junkie while I've been travelling! So after filling myself up with cornflakes and toast I realised I hadn't really planned to do anything. Luckily my roommate wanted to go to a couple of places in the city so I tagged along with her.
We walked out to Market City which was lots of outlet stores, bought a couple of essentials (they were only 3 quid tho) and then to Paddy's Market. This is a very famous traditional flea market selling souveniors, cheap clothes, second hand goods, fruit and veg. Probably the biggest market I have ever seen and not too tacky either!
We then walked through Chinatown browsing all the windows and stalls. treated myself to a Chicken Bun which was honey glazed. Pretty strange taste, sweet and savoury, but pretty delicious!! I am definitely going back there for dumplings next week!
After that we gradually made our way back to the hostel, making a quick detour to a thai restaurant/takeaway where I had a thai green curry and rice for $5 because I was wearing a special wristband (which you get given in the free internet places). Very impressed and very full afterwards.
So we crawled back to the hostel and chilled out for a few hours where we got talking to our other roommate(and my bunk mate, me on top bunk, him on bottom bunk), an irish guy who suggested we get some goon (cheap boxed wine)(6 quid for 4.4 litres) I thought it would be pretty weak like Country Manor or Lambrini, but no, it was just like normal wine. Except you drink it out of a mug. Was a very fun night though, not sure how I managed to crawl up into my top bunk but thats where I woke up!
