Just a quick note to accompany the Kakum National Park pictures and also it's raining here so the internet cafe seemed quite appealing!!
We went to Kakum early on Wednesday morning, it is a small rainfores not very far from where we live. There are only 4 in the world and I think it's the only one in Africa so pretty impressive. There are 5 or 6 massive trees to each a platform is attached and then in between are the walkways between each oen so oyu go aroudn in a big circuit. Needless to say we didn't see any of the advertised wildlife like Forest Elephants but it was good all the same.
We had some people going round with us with binculars who were very 'Dora the Explorer' types whereas we just went for a laugh to be honest and the peaceful forest was somewhat disturbed every now and again when one of us would wobble on one of the canopies and let out a bit of a scream! It was really high at some points and you couldn't see the floor as it was high and because you're right in the middle of all the trees. I surprised myself though and somehow managed not to bounce the walkways as I really wanted to, I don't think the others would have appreciatted it...!
After the canopy walk we went on this trek through the rainforest which lasted about an hour and was good except it was SO hot because the humidity levels are supposed to be about 90% which means you sweat quite a lot, sorry perspire!
Right off to dodge the rain... Keep the emails coming! xx
