Today began with legs that weren't fit for anything, let alone a 70 mile ride with 35kgs on board. Normally we seem to suffer at different times but this morning neither of us had any strength at all. Added to this the main brake on the rear had run out of material on the brake pads so not only couldn't we go, but we were really struggling to stop too.
Carine had worked out a good route from out hotel for us to join the DeLoite route that we have been following ever since we left John O'Groats, which definitely saved us several miles, bless her.
Once we had got the first 10 miles or so completed we both felt a bit better. Not strong, but not the jelly-legs that we both had when we started the day.
Today's route was mostly through country lanes so it wasn't until we got to Ludlow (Fife's home town), that we found a coffee stop. A double espresso, Berocca and energy gel later and we were on our way south again.
A little rain before we got to Leominster dampened our clothes, but not our spirit (aren't we the heroes), the we called into Phil Protheroe's Cycles, pictured above, in Leominster who replace the brake calliper. Bless him, we went to buy some more chamois cream but he wouldn't take any money, asking us to add the £13 to Monty's Macmillan Fund.

What a great bloke, he got on with it whilst we had some lunch so no time was lost. If you're reading this Phil, thank you!
After we were done in Leominster if was off again, just stopping a couple of times to take layers of clothes off as the weather got better and better and we ended up in full summer attire for the very hilly ride to Ross On Wye.
Shelley Fairy is coming to dinner in the hotel with us, we are both looking forward to see her again, as we were with Rob and his family last night.
We are both very tired but we now know we can finish this off properly.
Love to you all,
Martin, Carine and a very tired Jake.
