Had lunch, then off to do an afternoon landing on booth Island. This Island was used by captain Jean-Baptiste Chacot in the early 1900's during the winter months in his journey of exploring the Antarctic. We hiked up the hill to the lookout, the views are breathtaking there are no words nor photos that can do justice to what is front of us. We walked along the length of the Island then up to the ridge and along to the rocky outcrop at the end where the cairn is.
We also saw fur seals lazing about in the rocks, they occasionally get cranky with each other and have an argument involving a bit of biting and snarling.
Just remembered a hilarious sight - 2 penguins having a fight, the funniest thing to watch with their little wings frantically slapping one another.
Out on another zodiac cruise, this time we saw all types of seals - weddel, fur, elephant, crab eaters and leopard seals. They all stink so bad they make the penguins seem like they shrouded in perfume - fairly certain the sheer intensity of their stench stripped the lining in my nose. Stinky stinky!! Also some of the last of the sea ice float, the flat expanse of ice that covers the sea and it was covered in snoozing seals.
