Well well well. I finally have stopped being a lazy piece of crap and decided to find a place with internet to update my life and let everyone know that I'm alive. I haven't taken any new pictures which sucks but I definitely will tomorrow (more on that later).
Alright. So I finally started working. I'm starting as a busser at this ritzy hotel in Wailea and working my way up to a waiter, not at a restaurant but for room service. It's honestly not that bad. It's really relaxed, I don't have to deal with awful people, I get to drive a golf cart around, and I get paid $13 an hour. The past few days have been really interesting. As most of you know I am an avid campaigner for the death of Dane Cook. I thought he was funny the first 5 minutes I listened to him, but was immediately annoyed thereafter. He's everything comedy isn't, not to mention he steals his jokes. Hatred. Do I need to mention Good Luck Chuck? I think not. It turns out he's staying at my hotel this week in an oceanfront villa for $3000 a night. I got the pleasure of training with a girl from work and to deliver room service to him, where his bill was very high and I guess just forgot to tip the waitress. Couldn't believe it. The next day, the same thing. No tip. He also gave me lip and ordered me around, which like a b**** I took. I mean, come on, it's the only job I've got. Today, he was a notch cooler by instead of ordering me around, he gave me a modest "sup man." What a douche. I've already made a promise to myself, that if any of the following celebrities show their face at my hotel, and I have a backup job at the same time, I will try my best to give them my two cents and hopefully get fired for it:
Dane Cook (he's not gone yet), Tom Cruise, anyone from the bands Staind, Trapt, Three Days Grace, or Limp Bizkit, Ben Affleck, Paris Hilton, KANYE WEST (top of my list), Anne Coulter, Lars Ulrich, the guy from the Decemberists, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
I also started a job working the front desk at a sweet Best Western down the street from my house. It really sucks dealing with ahole people but I get paid good and the people that work there are really relaxed. I still can't decide whether or not to keep it or not. On Thursday I had an interview with a local company called Eco-Adventures which take tourists on hikes all over the island and teach them about the local environment, conservation efforts, and ecology, which obviously would be amazing. The interview was really casual and I actually get to go on a test hike tomorrow morning through a sweet rainforest. I think that's a good sign they may like me, and also to see if I would like playing tour guide. You can't beat hiking for a job. Getting paid to hike? Come on.
On a much more important note, the scooter has arrived. I couldn't believe it actually got here after a month of waiting. It came in a gigantic box which was sealed like fort knox and provided a huge pain in the arse struggle. It took about an hour to figure out everything and to get her going. The whole scooter process here is a big hassle. If it's a fast scooter, you have to have a hawaii driver's license, get a safety inspection, pass a motorcycle written test, an on road test, provide proof of insurance and register it. I have done none of the above aside from the Hawaii driver's license. I took the motorcycle test for the second time on Wednesday and failed again. I have to wait again until Wednesday so I can try and pass. But either way, that scooter is the funnest thing I've ever ridden, not to mention the coolest looking scooter. I actually have been made fun of for riding it because it kind of looks like a harley, funny but true. WHATEVER IT'S COOL.
Thursday I leave for Coachella. I'm suuuuuuper excited and can't wait to see DanDan and KerrKerr Guys. Prince also got added to headline Saturday night which will be SWEET. I've always wanted to see him live.
I'm already looking to move out of my apartment. The place itself is cool, but just having to deal with crazy dogs, walking in poo, and gnat infestations is finally getting to me. I'm looking for a roommate to cut rent down and to have someone new to hang with. That offer is extended to anyone reading this, ps. I'll let you know how the test hike goes. Postcards are on my list of things to do for sure. All for now.
