Alright, wow. It's been a long time since the last entry and a whole lot has been happening. First, im going to start posting pictures on flickr as well because for some reason offexploring kind of makes the pictures look like poo, and these pictures are awesome so I don't want to settle for less image quality. ANYWAY.
So I've started settling into the apartment. It's been real sweet with the exception of the howling dogs at the buttcrack of dawn and the constant smell of dog funk. If I didnt put this in an earlier entry, my apartment, while insanely dirt cheap for what it is and where it is, is located on the property of a refuge for abused dogs, most of which are ugly as sin and are, with lack of a better term, rejects. But whatev, I can deal. Also the scooter arrives early-mid next week. Here is the link to the badboy:

So I guess I'll start with last Wednesday. Some people from the outdoor group got together and went on a coastal hike in a place upcountry called Haiku, which was effing beautiful. At the end of the hike there were a few tidal pools a hundred or so feet below that we wanted to swim in but were too tired. I definitely want to go back. We had to try and bypass a gigantic heard of pissed off cows (probably because they were mating, oops.) which was fun. If you look real close at the pictures from the coastal hike you can see a bull staring us down. We got shave ice in the hippie-infested commune of a town called Paia, which actually ruled (the shave ice i mean).
I got sick the following days after so I really didn't do much until Saturday. Saturday the outdoor group drove about 1.5 hours upcountry to PoliPoli where we did about a 6 mile hike through giant sequoias and redwoods, which also ruled. The hike wasn't too strenuous until the end which was the best part. About 7500 feet up we came to the last half mile of the hike. Clouds started rolling into and through the woods which looked completely unbelieveable. The pictures definitely don't do it justice. Ellen, you definitely wouldve been in photog heaven. Sunday we played 3v3 volleyball where I of course got worked.
I've been interviewing at a ritzy hotel in wailea and got a couple of job offers. The red flags are starting to go off money wise so this was a good reassurance. With coachella coming up in the next few weeks I'll definitely need the extra spending cash (woooooooo). Although I won't be doing anything near exciting at this hotel, it'll serve as a good temporary home until I find something I came here to do. A few places are hiring hiking guides which obviously would rule so I need to get those resumes out. I also heard from the whale foundation today and no go unfortunately. That really blew balls. I interviewed with another snorkel boat yesterday where the guy was a total p****and practically a slave driver. My dreams as a snorkel boat crew member will have to be put on hold for now.
I also got my first request for a couchsurfer for july which I'm really excited for. I'm also going to apply to work at a shave ice hut down the street where hopefully I'd get all the shave ice I want which is probably the only reason I'd take the job. I don't imagine the pay scale for shave ice baristas is too high.
