The time is already flying by. Saturday morning I went outrigger canoeing which kicked ass. We went a few miles out on the ocean until we were greeted by a family of 3 or 4 whales about 50 yards away from the canoes. So awesome words cant explain. We tooled around on Big Beach all day until I had to leave to go see Maui's 1 of 3 O.K. concerts of the year, Incubus and Silversun Pickups. Silversun kicked ass until the lead singer said his entire family is Hawaiian and from Oahu and Molokai. Unless he was adopted by native Hawaiians, he probably shouldnt have said it. The whole place went dead silent and I really though someone was going to start a fight. The fights come later in the night. So time passes by and I wait in the front for Incubus. I used to really like Incubus freshman year when they actually were good, then they started making s***ty music so I dropped off the bandwagon. Needless to say they played mostly all old stuff which was sweet. Brandon Boyd was really into himself so that made me sick. Throughout the show I counted 9 scuffles between people, not just s***talking, but actual pushing and shoving, mostly as a result from people being pushed into them and so on. It was like no one at that concert had never been to any kind of rock show. Period. At one point some old dude wanted to crowdsurf so we lifted him up and threw him forward, obviously landing on top of a bunch of teeny boppers' heads and falling to the floor. One guy that looked JUST like the douche from Napoleon Dynamite (can't remember his name, I do remember he was sitting in the front of the class while Napoleon was doing sign language to music) shoved the s*** out of the old man and said, and I quote, "I will f*** your world up, b****." f*** your world up, b****? Seriously though? I was in a bad mood at the end of the night, probably because this was a semi-preview of what's to come music wise to Maui. So s***ty.
Sunday I went to Big Beach, again, where I got way too much sun and felt really sick. I got some food from a place called da kitchen (a new fav) and I felt like a million bucks. Sundays are cool here because every Sunday at the nudey beach, little beach, hundreds of people trek to drink, watch fire dancers and drummers, all at sunset. As many of you know, I hate hippies. Most hippies at least so I was a little skeptical to go. I almost copped out when I just decided to go. It actually was really fun and hilarious. So many people drugged out, drunk, and having a good time. At sunset when the super hippie jam fest was at full throttle, tons of humpbacks showed up a few hundred feet off shore and breached so many times. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. Then I looked over and saw a naked woman popping a squat right next to the water, not in the water god forbid, but right next to it. I then convinced myself I hated hippies again.
Monday I took some of Zeona's friends and the Danes (danish dudes) on a hike and snorkel fest across la perouse bay on the south shore. It was an awesome day for snorkeling and everyone I think liked it. One of Zeona's friends hurt herself which was a bummer. Oh well get over it.
Today I had an interview with the whale foundation which I think went pretty well. I wouldn't get paid much but it was still be an awesome experience. Well see what happens with that. I also moved into the new apartment which kicks ass also. However, while trying to open one of the thousand windows in the place I managed to slice my hand open. Awesomely enough my health insurance hasn't kicked in yet so neosporin will have to do for now. I also think I'm coming down with the flu or something so im going to lay down now. Barf.
