Today marks exactly 1 month of living on Maui. Insanity. I can't believe it's only been a month, it definitely feels like I've been here 6 months. That feeling is shared in my mind as well as my pockets. With Coachella rapidly approaching, my funds are dwindling down verrrry fast. Luckily, I had orientation for the hotel job today which I get paid for. The position is listed as casual and not part-time, which means I could have 0-as much as 25 hours a week to work which is cool and sucks at the same time. My mission before I came here was to only have a part-time job so I could enjoy life and pay rent at the same time. Payday cant come soon enough.
My luck here has come in strings. Right now I'm in a semi-bad luck string. On Tuesday, being cocky after passing my Hawaiian drivers test without studying, I went into the dmv to take the motorcycle test (i have to get a motorcycle license for the scooter) without studying. I failed the test by 2 questions. I don't feel that bad because that test wouldve been hard as balls regardless if I studied for 10 minutes (which I did) or 2 hours. So now I have to wait until next Tuesday to retake the test in which I will be more prepared. Also, the effing scooter isn't here yet. I have no clue what the deal is, since last week it's been saying it's in the local harbor but I can't get a hold of anyone knowing where the hell it is. In the mean time, I've been having to rent a car which isn't cheap at all, especially with the $4 a gallon average for gas here. And again, funds are low. Reaaally low. That part of 9-5 life I kind of miss. I never had to really worry about money or running out or anything and I definitely took it for granted. Not having rent for next month and testing my integrity definitely is fun and makes it exciting. I mean, I'm in Maui, who cares. Who needs a good credit score anyway?
Who am I kidding I NEED MONEY. Danny don't you owe me money for something?
