A really huge day and our last full one in California.
Up very early to leave by 6am to hook up with our tour bus at the BART. Full bus with d*** in the seat in front of us far more important than us so they had their chairs fully reclined the whole way meaning we had a full 3" between our seat & theirs grrrrr If that wasn't bad enough she looked & sounded like Phyllis Diller, hardly drawing breath the whole day.
Even they couldn't detract from the day though. Yosemite, (according to Pete that's pronounced to rhyme with vegemite, yo-se-mite lmao) really is an awesome place.
Getting there we passed through a lot of rural areas, sheep, cattle & goats; hawks, eagles (?), squirrels & a coyote (we think) stone fruit, walnuts, almonds, corn & grapes. We saw the giant sequoias which were a 20 minute hike to get to; it took 40 mins to get back up to the bus lol and breathtaking, soaring cliffs, the remnants of long gone glaciers. When we stopped for lunch we opted to take our picnic down by the river which was icy cold and ate under a tree.
Coming back towards San Fran we were treated to a spectacular sunset. Instead of being dropped back where we were picked up we opted to stick with the others and went across the Bay Bridge & toured around SF by night as the driver dropped everyone off before depositing us at a BART to head home.
We got back to our hotel about 11.30, a really huge day.
Tomorrow afternoon we fly to Dallas but don't think we'll be doing much before that other than recovering from today.

Trish S. Loving the blog, Sue.
Sue Thanks Trish :-)
Sue Lol yeh Dee really could've done without the stereo typical uber loud, inconsiderate American. Everyone else we've met has been lovely, super friendly and helpful when we look lost
