The ship docked early, about 7am. We took our time finishing up the last little bit of packing and getting breakfast. We sat on the back deck cos the rest of the restaurant was already taken but it was pretty cold and miserable. A lone seagull kept chancing his luck by landing on the railing and when the coast was clear he'd duck onto a table searching for treats.
The disembarkation was super fast, we handed our customs dec over and that was it, we were out, no passport control at all.
We called Tanya who was still getting the kids sorted and arranged for her to come and get us.
By the time she arrived around 11am the weather had really set in, rain, low clouds and cool. Poor Tanya had one if the kids in tow cos he was sick. They'd been up all night with him at a hospital and he was still not looking too good. It's a bit scary at the mo, there's some weird arse virus around that is hitting kids hard so they weren't taking any chances. Paulo was driving so it was great to meet him.
We chatted all the way back to theirs where they'd taken great care of the rental car, thanks guys!
We went in for a coffee and easily spent over an hour chatting like old friends. We had laundry and things to sort out so we headed off to our hotel in Vancouver. It was after 2pm by the time we got there so decided the aquarium wasn't a good option given it was 30 or more mins in the traffic to get to it and it shut at 5. It will have to wait for another time.
We did the laundry and Pete caught up on a weeks worth of work emails and bills, exciting stuff lol
The kids were both puking by dinner time so we gave away the plans to meet up and take Tanya and Paulo out for dinner to say thank you so I did a bit of research and organised a gift basket for them, hope they get it!
When it hit 8.30 and we still didn't have any idea on dinner we got lazy and went next door to maccas, their chicken salad wraps aren't too bad for you......
