The internet at the hotel was patchy, Pete wanted to update the maps on the new GPS and it was problematic last night. This morning it was a bit more stable so he set it in motion and we hung around til it was done getting away about 10.30
It's been a sunny day with dark ominous clouds always just ahead of us but not quite affecting us. We went through US customs and immigration after a twenty minute wait in the queue with little drama. We crossed at Peace Arch which was a lovely little spot and we there it was, we were back in the USA.
We headed for the Boeing facility in Mukilteo. It's a massive place covering over 1000 acres and employing over 40,000 people there. It's so big that when they first built it and started production it created its own weather inside so they had to put in air controls to combat that. It's the o ly building in the world that you can literally see, u impeded for a km. We did the tour seeing some production lines including the new dream liner 787-9. Moderately interesting for me, far more so for Pete having worked for Boeing.
After that we drove down to Seattle and got treated to what we understand is rare, a sunny afternoon lol the traffic sucked but then it was rush hour and there's been an accident. From the other side of the city, heading south we hit more accident affected traffic. For the most part we could stick to the HOV lane so it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
We checked out the Washington capital, Olympia before continuing a wee way down the highway to Centralia for the night.
