I can't believe I only have one week left in Kenya! I remember when I first got here a month seemed like such a long time and now I can't believe it's almost over. This past week has been pretty good. Thursday we went into Karen to "Rusty Nail" for drinks and to say good bye to Gemma. She is a girl from England that we met on orientation and also spent a long weekend with her on Safari. It's crazy to see people leaving already. Kristin and I are the next ones to go! Today we spent half the day at "Shelter" which is another orphanage in Ngong but is about a 10 minute motorbike ride out into the middle of no where. Shelter is an amazing orphanage! My experience would have been very different if I were placed there instead of Sidai. Shelter is out in the country where Sidai in right in the slums. I don't regret my time spent at Sidai b/c I feel like I have already learned a lot however it has been difficult adjusting to everything that goes on in teh slums. After spending some time playing with the kids at Shelter we came and met the Sidai kids in the field for a couple hour....I got some great pictures of the kids playing today :) Tomorrow Kristin and I meet some friends and head into Nairobi for the day which should be fun and tiring simply b/c that's how downtown Nairobi feels.
On another note I'm going to miss living with Grace and Stanley SOOO MUCH. They have really taken us in and treated us like their own children. They are amazing Christians and show it in their every day life. I only wish my family could meet them sometime! I think my parents would love them and appreciate how at home they have made Kristin and I feel :)
