So arrived in St Malo friday late afternoon to spend a lovely evening with Stuart after major brain freeze caused by frantically trying to finish my work at 3.30 am made me forget that there is in fact a time difference in France...!

Those people who question how I became a lawyer - I don't blame you!

Managed then to get to the hotel with only one of my two bags... luckily 1) only my gym kit and 2) got it back.

One of my two bags that I should add I thought I had packed sparsely with only 5 pairs of shoes and then turned out it was too heavy for the ferry - health and safety - who knew!

On Saturday travelled to Caen by train to be met by Monsieur et Madame B (who also thought that my bag was very large!?!). They took me on a wacky races type tour around Caen which included driving round a roundabout four times and the wrong way up a wrong way street.

The family are very nice and the house truly look like something out of a magazine!

The main course of the three course first meal I had with the family was a seafood risotto... they apologised profusely as, coming from Guernsey, I must eat this all the time... I didnt inform them that I had never eaten them in my life!

Any one who is slightly familiar with my ability to cook will be able to imagine my horror when I was then told that it is usual for their guest to cook for the family one evening during the stay...

I tried to explain...

I was told that they had an american who had just made burgers and cooked them on the BBQ... JUST MADE BURGERS!!!! ON A BBQ!!!! For me to do this it would require two things - 1) the ability to make burgers and 2) the ability to use a bbq...

I think I will just so happen to be flying to the moon on a cow that day... that way both me and the cow will be busy...
