Friday 9th March:
Got up at 7am this morning as our tour bus left at 8.20am. Had a bit of an argument with the woman on reception as they made us change rooms and wouldn't let us store our bags anywhere...they did with a little persuasion!
Got into the bus and there was 10 of us, including a strange American lady who didn't stop talking the whole day and surprise surprise we were the lucky ones that had to sit next to her. She was a bit of a psycho, she locked her 18yr old daughter out the house because she doesn't like her boyfriend (who she got a restraining order put on) Mum's don't get any ideas, the woman also has set mouse traps up around her daughters bedroom window incase she tries to get back in.... and we heard more of the same stories throughout the whole day!
We stopped off for morning tea and then went on into Blue Mountains. Stopped to see some aboriginal rock carvings, some beautiful waterfalls and amazing scenery. Went on the worlds steepest railways, which is 52 degrees, quite scary and a cablecar back up (shown in the picture). The Blue Mountains were stunning, felt so insignificant amongst acers of rainforest, the whole area being the size of Ireland. . Had a lovely lunch in the mining down of Kataloomba and then went onto to an amazing lookout, which didn't have any railings so you had to mind your step because of the sudden drop! On the way back we stopped off to see some wild kangaroos and then the guy took us to where the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games were held (The huge stadium). Got a boat home which took about 45 mins and had a gorgeous view of the harbour on the way in.
