I woke up in the morning and i felt like i didn't deserve to have it stolen especially when i am giving up my 8 weeks to volunteer in Sri Lanka. I reported it to the staff, and Mr Neil in the morning. He was horrified at the fact somebody stolen it, Sri Lankan people are very proud of their heritage so its such a shame for them when a fellow sri lankan steal. After a morning of playing games and zip climbing which I enjoyed doing especially when my team won! I was told that the boys denied taking it...i was adamant that they took it, so adamant that i wanted to go to the doctor house and demand it back. Sophie said she would sort it out with Mr Neil so i left them to it. By lunch i started to accept that i would never get it back. Then something magically happened! A barman who heard that my iPhone was stolen went to the doctors house and told them if he didn't give it back, he would call the police and the doctors reputation probably would be tarnished. He came back with my iPhone in perfect condition! I thanked him and I was elated to have my iPhone back, i saw the doctor standing a few metres away....first thing i felt like telling him that he should be ashamed of himself but then i realised it would not achieve anything really, i got my iphone back anyway and he didn't know in the first place (but it was still his own son tut tut) however i politely said thank-you for the sake of the reputation of SL volunteers plus i felt a bit sorry for him as desperation can drive you to do all sorts of things especially if you're poor. I was still exhausted from the day before so i was grateful to go back home particularly with all the drama! We took some photos beforehand with the group and then we set off leaving behind the jungle and the fun memories etched in my mind. We arrived just after 5pm, Sandra looked a bit better after falling ill with a cold and a cough. she seemed to be pleased to see us, it turned out she was sleeping most of time throughout the weekend. I asked her whether she felt fit enough to travel to her school the next day and she replied yes. She wanted to get out of the house so we all agreed to go KFC that night for our dinner as Amma(Yasintha mother) didn't feel well enough to cook. We hired a minibus to take us all to maharagama, which cost me 130 rupees return which was cheap! Rosie was too exhausted and still hurting from the accident so Beth offered to get a meal for her. I ordered a snacker sandwich with fries plus a can of Pepsi.. My chicken was fine but Molly's chicken was a bit fishy with a bit of pink so she left it out instead eating fries and the bread! Sophie recommended us to go food shopping as KFC was next to food city so I bought peanut butter, some essentials and let not forget milo! :-) once we arrived back home, Frankie had to pack her clothes ready to go to her own school next day so we went next door to give her space...a hour later we came back to discover her crying. I was worried about her. She asked me to get Sophie so I went back next door and I felt bad interrupting Sophie as she looked relaxed. Sophie came by and talked to Frankie...we left them to it. Luckily Frankie looked a bit better after the talk, we hugged and got ready for bed, we were tired!
