Breakfast was average, fried egg with toast (more like bread) I got ready, I decided to wear my waterproof black trousers which could be zipped off as shorts with a swimming costume underneath with a vest. We got on a open small van, we squeezed in all together and I was on the edge, I felt like I was going to fall couple of times especially when it turned sharply! I got given a life jacket which I put on, a helmet and a oar paddle. Few minutes later we were all ready, fully briefed with health and safety rules we toddled down never-ending steps to the bottom by the river! Lucky for me, the deaf group got on first raft, as it was more easier for Sophie to interpret with all of us on one boat. Rosie joined us too, then we all set off! It was so much fun! I was a bit nervous to start with but all the fears soon dissolved after paddling down the river. The views was amazingly beautiful, it felt like a sanctuary of peace with these tea plantations perched on the hills, the water rushing down on the river, and the greenest coloured jungle all around us.we went along down the river paddling left and right, to come rushing down the steep slope and the water came all over us after the impact, we all got really soaked and laughed so hard! Then the man who was in the charge told us to paddle and that there was one more rough slope left to do and afterward it would be peaceful, calm waters...just floating about really. We all excitedly paddled and suddenly the river pushed us so hard, we went over couple of bumps which were obviously rocks below underwater, the raft was out of control and we all ended up slamming a big rock, the raft had flipped over sideways, I held on the raft so hard fighting the river's desire to pull me down under. Everything happened so fast I couldn't register what had just happened..I saw Frankie floating away along the strong currents, holding on her life jacket, i looked over to my left side and Sophie was not there. I saw her wedged between two rocks, she was obviously stuck with the water splashing over her face, she was gasping for a breath, I made the split decision to poke her with my oar paddle hard and finally she broke free and floated away. I then looked over to my right and I saw Molly holding on the raft just like me, then I realised she was frantically holding somebody, that somebody was Duffy. He was trying to help Rosie, but then somehow he lost grip and was pulled away by the rage of the river and floated down. Rosie was being pulled underwater and she desperately grabbed the man (the guide) who was in charge of the raft, gasping for air and Molly was trying to help him to hold Rosie above water. I could see Molly being pulled down a bit by the strength of the river so I held on to her keeping a tight grip on the raft. Eventually Rosie resurfaced freely with the help from us, it turned out her ankle/foot was trapped under the raft by the rock, that was why she couldn't break free. The panic in her eyes was terrifying, she later told us that she thought she was dying. I asked Molly whether she knew what happened to Stephen and when she said 'no' we feared that he was underneath the raft as he was opposite me on the boat. After gesturing to Duffy down the river, he told me that Stephen was safely with the other volunteers. A big relief! Mr Neil came rushing over and we all lifted Rosie on to dry rock area and she slowly limped all way to the car, they took her to the doctors. Me and Molly walked down to find Frankie pointing to her legs which was scratched from hitting the rocks. Bless her! The rest of us came away unharmed luckily, the raft survived the impact (typical!) and we went back on and paddled down the river. We all were a bit shocked and at the same time we felt really adventurous! I hoped that Rosie would be okay. We eventually arrived at the end and we went on the open air small van which was brilliant! We had lunch and then we trekked through the jungle, after a few minutes, stephen came tumbling down a bit after slipping on some mud, he twisted his knee. After five minutes of resting, he was determined to continue, so we did just that. He asked the guide whether the terrain would be rough and he answered back that the terrain would be flat soon and that it would be easier to walk....what a massive lie that was! The trek was hellish! The path was very very narrow, on the edge to what would be a very deep fall ahead if I lost my balance. I thought to myself 'ouch how can stephen do that' he was trailing behind with some others while some us was ahead. Finally we arrived by the waterfall, but not before we had to balance ourselves on a thin long rock across the river, if we lost our balance we would've fallen down to rocks. Gladly for me, my balance was excellent, phew! Just as soon stephen began to cross the river, sophie slipped on a wet rock and fell in the water, she came back up and asked for help, Duffy dived in and lifted her up to reveal a big bump on her head (the bump resembled a golf ball)....today was filled with accidents! We all didn't let it deter us, we proceeded to do the confidence jump, the rock sliding which was such great fun! Molly felt unsafe so she opted out, instead watching us. The jump was a bit high, me and Frankie was like 'ahhh oh my god' we counted to 3 and just jumped! :-) I was really glad we did that, so much fun! The rain decided to join in our adventure, we swam in the rain but it poured down more, the guide ordered us all to get out as it was thunder. So I went to Molly who was looking after my bag, I didn't have time to change so I threw on a top and harem trousers, we all got really soaked! I walked barefoot with frankie as we didn't want our trainers to be wet. The group walked so fast, we struggled to catch up with them. Molly was halfway between the group and us so it helped me and frankie to follow....when I was nearly at the jungle accommodation, I saw a leech sucking on my foot! (a big leech!) I flickered it off and blood came spilling out then it stopped. I was relieved as it was my first time having a leech latched on my foot. We arrived and got changed into clean dry clothes! We had dinner, and just relaxed for a bit, I was tired and worn out after an eventful day so we all went to bed. end of the adventurous day right? No....i realised my precious iphone was missing! I searched everywhere with the help from the girls, Rosie told us that the doctor popped in the room with his two sons to see how she was doing...i decided that one of these boys had stolen it, but it was late. I went to bed feeling upset and deflated.
