Thursday, and what a great day it was! Our teachers came early again, ready to rock and roll as we say! Because of their eagerness, we will begin our workshop 30 minutes earlier next week. Our local teachers will also begin teaching, using what we've been sharing. We are so encouraged by the enthusiasm we have seen!
The last day of our children's day camp was another fun day. Many of the children were so eager to be there that they were waiting an hour early! After we had enjoyed lunch together with the local teachers, I had the opportunity to share time with many of them before the camp began. Since music is the universal language, we sang together! What a joyous sound!
Books and games followed with great listening and lots of fun to be had.
Had a great chat with one of the teacher/principals of a local school. Very eye opening! He shared some of his experience during the 14 years of fighting that his country went through. He was one of the few that stayed in Yekepa, and has a great testimony of God's provision and faithfulness. What a tragic past this country has suffered through. Many things are needed for healing and continued growth. It is encouraging to see Liberians invested and willing to sacrifice to continue to rise from the ashes!
More later!
