Our day started early once again, but possibly not as early as it should have. We were all still kinda wipded from the day before so it wasn't the happiest morning really. We all got ready, ate breakfast and eventually headed off to once again join the queue for Ballroom 20 to see the Chuck panel. When we got there however the queue was massive and so we kinda gave up that idea and went for a wander around the dealer/exhibition area. It was still pretty crazy down there with people grabbing for freebies and trying to get to signings. We headed for the WB botth to find out about the Chuck signing later in the morning. We discovered this was pretty much going to be a free-for-all as whoever got into the signing area within the first few minutes it would take to fill it up would get to meet the cast. After some consideration, and being told to move by far too many official people, we decidede against hanging about and went to sit out in the foyer to decide what to do next. We also got told to move from there so after some deliberation we headed over to the Hilton Hotel which was to be home to the Glee and Heroes panels later in the day.
On our way we saw teh end of the queue to get into the Lost panel - madness, and we discovered the quietest Starbucks ever, so stocked up on caffeene. We then wandered in teh direction of the Indigo Ballroom which had only just started to fill up for its first panel of the day. As everyone was at the Chuck or Lost panels it was pretty quiet and we managed to get ourselves some fairly good seats. The first couple of panels weren't really ones we paid much attention too, me writing and the others doing other stuff to pass the time. At some point in this Alice decided she was going off for a wander - that was the last we saw of her for the rest of the day.
Gradually the room continued to fill up until it was time for the Glee panel and the soom was pretty full. The panel started with a screening of episode 2, which we were muchly excited about. It was all kinds of awesome, and watching it with a large audience was an amazing experience, and because of the musical/comedic nature of the show it works even better with an audience to share it with. At the end of the screening four of the cast and some of the creative team came out to talk. There was a lot of audience love, particularly for Lea Michelle, and they told us a host of things about the show, how it happened and the number of songs that were going to be in the series - think it was around 80 so far! Eventually though the panel, sadly, had to end. Annoyingly before the stage had cleared the room started to fill up with rude Heores fans who were trying to shove thier way forward for the next panel. Noms and I decided - and I'm not entirely sure why - that we couldn't be bothered staying for the panel so headed out while Jenny stayed.
We slowly made our way out of the Hilton and towards the hostel to chill out for a bit, wandering into shops as we went. Eventually we reached the hostel, walked up to reception level and pretty much stopped there until Jenny returned from Comic Con. We decided between up that we would head out for a wander to the mall to find Hot Topic (and the girls wanted a Harry Potter shirt we'd seen in New York).
Our first stop was to a DVD store where a while host of TV DVD's I'd wanted for ages were found, I was quite good though and only bought Fraggle Rock, How I met Your Mother and Saved By The Bell series 5 as everythign else was still quite expensive. After that we went into the mail part of the mall, this was our first outside American mall and it was amazing. It was a really nice place, open but enough cover to keep the sun off and on all these different levels. We eventually found Hot Topic and had a brouse but nothing took our fancy so we continued to wander, heading for Nordstrom ao I could see if they had a Clinque counter. Our entrance took us to the sunglasses section of the store so Noms and Jenny proceeded to try on all of them until they found ones they liked. I got bored and so went in search of Clinique and, discovering they didn't have what I wanted ended up brousing the shoe department.
In shoes my eyes were greeted by Uggs next to the word sale, so of course I headed towards them. Here I found a couple of really nice pairs which were under $150, which was amazing as normal short Uggs are around that price and these were fancier ones. By this point Noms and Jenny had joined me and too were enjoying the prices. After some thought we decided we would leave them for now, think about getting them and come back in the morning if we decided we wanted them. We then headed to Macy's, who did have the stuff I wanted, and were finally directed to a post box which we had been searching for since arriving in San Diego. Seriously having come from New York where you couldn't walk more than a couple of blocks without seeing one, to having spent a week trying to find one, this was quite an event. Of course this lead to photos of us hugging said postbox which I think have made it to Jenny's facebook album. Around this time Alice re-entered the world via text, she had jumped on a ferry and headed off to explore Corranardo Island.
After our postbox excitement we meandered our way back towards the hostel for food and to begin the process of packing as we were checking out in the morning in fabour of Rach's floor as the hotel had hiked up its rates since we first booked. Packing was quite entertaining as we originally planned to try and have everything packed for home and use our little cases for the stuff we needed in LA. This plan didn't happen thought as there was just so much stuff and it was too much to organise. Our packing ended up taking up with us taking over the entire rooms floor with outhers staying in the room having to climb over us as we tried to sort thigns out. Some point during this Alice returned with tales of her adventure and we took a break to eat dinner.
Alice had gone off to shower and organise her stuff and returned downstairs a little, umm, distrubed due to walking into her dorm to discover one of the other girls getting up close and personal with a guy. She had quickly exited and come down to join us. Eventually she had to return to her room, this time discovering them butt naked and mid shag so once again hightailed it out of the room and back to us. Our room had an empty bed in it so I suggested we swapped her room for the evening, which we'd actaully been wanting to do most of the week, so popped to reception to ask if we could explaining the problem. In hearing this the guy on reception instantly knew who we were talking about and bounded off up the stairs banging on the door demanding the guy exit the room before giving him a serious b******ing - turned out he was a member of staff. He then returned to reception and change's Alice's room for us continually appologising for the experience. Alice still however had to go into the room to collect her stuff so, after some discussion, I took the lead, walked in, helped grab her stuff while the girl pretended to be asleep under a sheet. Soon we were all resettled in the same room as each other.
We decided to do some washing at this point so we had clean pants for the rest of our travels. There was also some entertaining bra drying on a genius travel washing line, a highly amusing image to greet anyone walking into our room. Eventually it was getting pretty late and our washing still wasn't dry so, as Noms and Jenny were already asleep, and Alice and I were barely concious, we decided to crash and collect the washing in the morning.
