The terbulane pretty much continued throughout the flight. That was most definatly not fun! I managed to sleep through a lot of it but when I was awake it was kinda horrific. The only cool part of it was looking out the window and seeing that we were literally inside a crater of weather, we were completely surrounded. Cool to look at, not so fun to ride. Towards the end of the flight we were given a 'snack' and as we were special meal people ours were delivered first, only mine wasn't there, and (this is the stupidest reason ever) the flight attendent said she hadn't made mine up as two had the same surname on!?!). Anyways she went to heat mine up, and thne forgot about it for ages, while I continued to be confused, grouchy and hungry by the event!
Eventually it was time to begin our decent into San Diego (hurrah!) and the world was once again viewable outside my window. Eventually we were on the ground - much to my happiness - and off to baggage claim. Now that was a supprise to me, we didn't have to show our passports or clear customs and when we got to baggage claim it was right by the exit doors with no security at all, people could literally walk in and take bags if they pleased, that really did freak me out! Anyways soon enough we had gathered our belongings and were in search of our bus to the hostel.
The ride to the hostel was a bit of a blur, partially because of how tired I was, and partially because it was dark, but soon enough we were being dropped off on a high street with a barely visible door to the hostel infront of us! We were then faced with our biggest challenge, the massive flight of stairs to get inside and to reception! Suffice to say we managed it eventually - hurrah - and were greeted by the most homely and pretty place ever! Seriously it was awesome, add to that the receptionist, Griffin, being the most laid back Californican surfer dude ever and you get instant charm and chilledness! Within minutes we were checking in and had another set of stairs to climb to get to our rooms. (Alice was in a seperate one as there was no more room in ours when we booked her bed) Our room was amazing, so much space and so pretty, I never wanted to leave! We, of course, made ourselves at home by making a total mess and spread our stuff all over the room - as only we can do! Eventually we sorted ourselves out, put some washing on as we were seriously low on clean clothing and hadn't done any washing in New York. While waiting for the washing to dry we checked out internet land, had some noodles and then once the washing was dry we headed to bed, passing out and enjoying a wonderful nights sleep through which half the people staying in our room left without us even noticing.
