Have realised the blogs a bit overdue now as we have been in Cusco nearly a week now. On the first day we just pottered around the central town which is really nice, also we were total tourists and having bit really brought anything yet went a bit mad. Chris got a bag, jumper and shoes and I got a jumper, socks, slippers And trousers. Total gringos. Chris is an expert haggler, almost embarrassingly, but it does save money, all be it 50p at times! We then had a very nice lunch of a few starters, Peruvian ones, they have the most delish avocados here and do this sort of salad thing with chicken and onions and we had some more cerviche, the raw fish in citrus. Yummmm. Also we went to the Cusco chocolate museum and learnt all about chocolate (surprisingly), and has a delish hot choc, and tried chocolate tea which was lush. That evening we hung with some new friend (who we call the Swedish house mafia as that are Swedish) had some beers and played cards.
The next day we thought we'd go and check out the ruins near Cusco called sacsayhuaman (or as I like to calm it sexy woooman as that's how it s sounds) on the way up the hill we were offered a horse ride o see some other ruins so decided to do that in stead as it was cheaper. We were with some American twin boys who were nice. The ride was cool, the horses however were very slow. And rarely got past a walk. The inca ruins were pretty cool though ad it was a really fun way to see it. Also when we were walking back we got to see the blanco christo, and met a Peruvian busker at the top who played up some nice tunes, and then we once again got bombarded by Peruvians wanting to take our picture, we were papped for about 5mins it was hilarious! And totally random. These Peruvians will be looking through their holiday snaps and be like ' this is when we saw down white people' so random. So we walked down the hill of sacsayhuaman and got to see a bit of it without paying the s/70 (winner) and then wondered around a bit more, had a Starbucks as we were cold and were told it had the best view of the square (it wast as great as he UK starbys though) we then went about trying to book an inca trek which we managed to do eventually after a while of searching and went for the inca jungle as everyone raves about it booked it for the following day. Bumped into our Canadian friends again and then had an early night as we had a super early morning again. Woop. Machu Picchu here we come.
