Left Wanaka this morning for a ski up on Coronet Peak. The only ski resort so far that has a road that is tar sealed all the way to the top. And probably the shortest journey too. The recent $$ millions invested have created a large base with a pretty efficient ski rental , lockers and loos etc. On a Monday morning all was pretty quiet although judging by the smelly sock aroma, they whizz a lot of people through this place. Dad Dad .. I want to go really really fast and spin so fast that my stomach churns ... and I'd like to get soaked in the process.Next stop Shotover Jet .... Awesome ! After that we whizzed back to Wanaka as we had a dinner invitation at Mark and Sonia's. The Salmon and Crayfish was fresh from a west coast fishery that day .. and tasted like it had just jumped straight onto the plate. Getting into these Central Otago Pinots and Pinot Gris too !
